140 Migrants Rescued from Overcrowded Boat in English Channel

French rescue teams had a busy day on the English Channel. They had to help a group of 140 migrants who were stuck on a single inflatable boat.
This boat was unusually large. Because so many people were on board, the trip was very dangerous. The boat had launched from a place much further away than usual, making this one of the longest attempts to cross the water on record.
When the boat started having trouble, French crews rushed to the scene to help. The area is known for having a lot of big cargo ships passing through, which makes it a very risky place to be in a small, crowded dinghy.
Reports say that while this boat was saved, other attempts to cross the water were not as lucky. In another nearby incident, dozens of people were left behind on a beach in France after their crossing plan failed.
No injuries have been reported from the group of 140, but the situation shows just how risky these trips remain for those trying to reach the UK from France.
