A group of 17 countries, including the United States, has just signed a new deal. They want to use artificial intelligence (AI) to help scientists make new discoveries faster.

This plan is being called the "Kyoto Vision." It started in Japan.

The goal is simple: use powerful computer programs to look at data and solve hard science problems. This could help us invent new medicines, find new materials, or learn more about the world around us.

Some people are talking about the exact words used in the deal. The agreement says countries will "endeavor" to do this, rather than saying they have "pledged" to do it. "Endeavor" just means they will try their very best to make it happen, but it is not a strict rule that forces them to finish a specific task by a set date.

Even though it is not a legally binding promise, it shows that these 17 nations want to work together. They believe AI is a huge tool for the future of science and they want to make sure they use it the right way.
