Ukraine’s new Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, spoke at the UN Security Council. He said that Ukraine is ready for a complete ceasefire right now. However, he told the other leaders that Russia is the one standing in the way by using its power to veto, or block, any plans for peace.

While fifty countries are backing this call for peace, the United States has not officially supported this specific statement. Officials in the U.S. are still carefully considering their approach to the situation.
