At Least 31 Killed in Attack on Pakistan Police Compound

A violent attack has hit a police compound in Pakistan. At least 31 people have been killed.
The incident happened at a mosque located inside the police facility in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. Many people were gathered there when the bomb went off.
A group connected to Al Qaeda says they are responsible for the attack.
Security forces had been locked in a standoff with militants for about 20 hours after the initial attack began. That standoff has now ended.
Rescue workers and police are dealing with the aftermath of the blast. Local officials have confirmed the death toll has risen to 31 as teams work through the site.
