EU Unlocks Billions to Help Ukraine's Military
The European Union is sending €6.6 billion to countries that have been arming Ukraine, but they are also asking Kyiv to fix its local laws.

The European Union has finally cleared the way to send €6.6 billion in aid. This money is meant to help member countries that have been sending their own weapons and gear to Ukraine to help them fight off Russia.
The money had been stuck for a while, but it is moving again now. This is a big deal because it helps keep the supply of weapons going for Ukraine.
However, there are still some strings attached. While the EU wants to help, they are also putting pressure on Ukraine to speed up improvements to their government and legal systems.
Brussels—the city where the EU makes its big decisions—is telling officials in Kyiv that they need to make sure their "rule of law" is strong. This basically means they want to make sure Ukraine is cleaning up corruption and following the rules before the country gets even more help in the future.
The news comes during a tough time, as seven people were killed in a recent attack in Kyiv. Leaders in the EU hope that this new funding will help the country stay strong as the conflict continues.
