Things are getting very tense in France right now. Students are protesting all across the country. They are angry about the conditions in their schools. The protests have turned into what officials are calling 'urban violence.'
Because of the chaos, 400 schools were forced to close on Friday. Things have gotten so bad that police and students have been fighting in the streets. Some students have even started fires.
It is not just property being damaged; people are getting hurt too. Reports say that 40 headteachers have been injured during the unrest.
The situation is serious enough that the French Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, has called for an emergency meeting to figure out how to handle the crisis. Government officials are trying to find a way to stop the spread of the violence and calm the students down.
For now, the streets remain tense as the country watches to see what happens next.
