Group faces backlash for controversial back-to-school guide
A civil rights group is under fire for comments linking 9/11 to Israel and for suggesting students read writings by Osama bin Laden.

A group called CAIR is in hot water today. CAIR stands for the Council on American-Islamic Relations. They released a guide for students to use when they go back to school.
People are upset because of what the guide says. First, it claims that the 9/11 terror attacks happened because of how the United States treats Israel.
Second, the guide suggests that students read writings by Osama bin Laden. Bin Laden was the leader of the group that carried out the 9/11 attacks.
The New York Post reports that these suggestions are causing a lot of anger. Many people think it is wrong for a group to tell students to look at work from a man who was America's enemy.
So far, CAIR has not backed down from the guide. This story is still developing as more people react to the group's advice.
