The Irish government’s recently acquired €53 million state jet is facing significant operational limitations, with reports confirming that the aircraft lacks critical safety equipment required for landing in low-visibility or foggy conditions. The deficiency stems from an official decision to reject Israeli-manufactured landing assistance technology.

The aircraft, intended for use by government officials and the Taoiseach, was reportedly delivered with the specialized avionics equipment originally specified for the model. However, following the decision to omit the Israeli-made system, the jet’s capability to operate in certain weather conditions has been compromised.

Critics and media outlets have pointed to the move as a direct consequence of Ireland’s long-standing policy regarding the procurement of goods and services linked to Israel.
