French President Emmanuel Macron is calling for an emergency meeting with G7 leaders. The G7 is a group of seven of the world’s most powerful democracies.

Macron wants this meeting because he is worried about two big problems. First, energy prices are going up quickly. This makes it more expensive for people to heat their homes and power their businesses. Second, he says Russia is stepping up "hybrid attacks" against Europe.

'Hybrid attacks' is a term for sneaky ways of causing trouble without starting a traditional war. This can include things like hacking into computer systems, spreading lies to cause confusion, or trying to mess with a country’s economy.

Because of these growing threats, Macron thinks it is time for major world leaders to sit down and talk. One big part of the plan is to discuss letting countries use their emergency oil reserves. Using these extra supplies of oil could help bring fuel prices down if things get worse.

This comes at a time when France is also looking closely at its own future safety. The French government just released a new plan for national security that runs through the year 2035. The report warns that countries need to be ready for more fighting in places like the ocean and even outer space.

Right now, leaders are trying to figure out how to keep their countries safe while also making sure that everyday life stays affordable for their citizens.
