Russia is sending new warnings about its nuclear weapons. They are specifically talking about the Baltic region. The country says it might use those weapons if its territory, specifically Kaliningrad, is cut off from supplies.
Mark Rutte, the head of NATO, is pushing back against these threats. NATO is the group of countries that works together for protection. Rutte made it clear that he isn't buying into the fear.
"No way they can beat us," Rutte said.
He told everyone that there is no immediate danger to NATO countries right now. Even though he says we are safe for the moment, he wants everyone to know that the alliance is ready. He said they are prepared for any Russian aggression that might happen.
Basically, the message from NATO is simple: Don't try it. The alliance says it is watching closely and won't be bullied by talk of nuclear weapons.
