Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using missiles and drones. Officials say at least seven people have been killed.

The attacks hit several parts of the country. One drone hit a school in Kyiv, the capital city. Another strike hit the National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv, where one woman was confirmed dead.

Ukraine’s leader, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said Russia specifically targeted energy sites. This means they are trying to break Ukraine's power grid. If they succeed, it leaves people without electricity, heat, or running water during the cold weather.

This is part of an ongoing pattern where both sides trade deadly strikes. The situation remains dangerous for people living in the area as these attacks continue to cause destruction in cities and towns across the country.
