A Russian drone crashed into a school building in Kyiv today. At the time of the crash, 104 children were inside the building. It is a miracle that the drone's warhead did not explode. If it had gone off, the results would have been much worse.
This attack is part of a larger, aggressive push by Russia. Moscow has been launching many air strikes on the capital of Ukraine. The mayor of Kyiv says the city is being torn apart. He described the situation as terrifying for the people living there.
Earlier today, another drone hit a building belonging to the Ukrainian Science Academy. That building was very important for research.
These constant bombings are making life in the city very difficult. Beyond the danger of the strikes themselves, the attacks have caused major traffic jams and chaos in the streets. People are struggling to get around while the city is under constant fire.
Global observers are watching the situation closely as Russia continues to press its air assault on Ukraine’s largest city.
