Things are tense in the Middle East today. The Saudi-led coalition says they just shot down a series of missiles and drones. These were launched by Houthi rebels, a group that has been fighting in the region for a long time.
Reports confirm that the coalition destroyed at least six ballistic missiles. Because of these attacks, the price of oil went up. When there is trouble in this part of the world, people often get worried about the oil supply, which makes the price jump.
While this is happening, there is also talk about what the United States will do. There was a report that Iran proposed a ceasefire—a temporary stop to the fighting—but former President Trump reportedly rejected the idea.
Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister warned that the Houthi threat is not just a local problem anymore. He said it is becoming a global issue that affects everyone. For now, the situation remains dangerous as both sides continue to trade attacks.
