The Trump administration has decided to move $52 million in military aid. This money was originally set aside to help countries in Europe and the Middle East. Instead, it is being sent to countries in Latin America.

This money is known as Foreign Military Financing (FMF). It is used to help other countries buy U.S.-made military equipment.

Not everyone agrees with this change. Leaders on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee have spoken out against the move. They say the administration did not have the legal right to change where this money goes. They called the action "unlawful."

People in Europe have relied on this aid to help strengthen their own defenses. By shifting the focus to Latin America, the government is changing its foreign policy priorities.

Critics worry that taking this money away from Europe could weaken ties with long-term partners. The White House has not changed its plan, despite the complaints from Congress.
