Politics can be stressful, so two big leaders decided to take a break in a very British way. Andy Burnham, who is the Mayor of Greater Manchester, and Mark Carney, a top Canadian official, met up recently to watch an Everton football match.

It might seem like a strange place for business, but the two men spent time talking about some serious topics. They discussed how to keep the internet safe for everyone and how to handle the fast-growing world of artificial intelligence, or AI.

AI is computer software that can think and create things on its own. It is a big topic for governments right now because they want to make sure it is used safely.

Beyond just technology, the two leaders were also looking at ways to keep a good relationship between their countries. Canada and the U.S. are currently having some disagreements about trade, and it seems this soccer match served as a quiet, informal way to talk through those problems.

It is not every day you see politicians using a soccer game to get work done, but for Burnham and Carney, it was the perfect chance to talk away from the cameras and the office.
