Ukraine drone strikes hit Russian oil plants and trains

Ukraine launched a series of drone attacks deep into Russian territory this week. The strikes hit important industrial targets, including oil refineries and rail transport.
Local Russian officials confirmed that the drone strikes caused major fires at several facilities. Because of the damage, at least four different fuel plants have been forced to shut down in the last seven days alone. These plants are used to process oil into fuel for cars, trucks, and military vehicles.
In addition to the damage at the plants, officials said that a train was hit during the attacks. Sadly, the strikes resulted in the deaths of two people.
Experts who track the war say these attacks are part of a larger plan by Ukraine to hurt Russia’s ability to move supplies and keep its war machine running. By hitting fuel supplies, Ukraine is trying to make it harder for Russia to continue its offensive campaign.
For now, the situation on the ground remains tense as emergency crews work to put out fires and assess the full scope of the damage at the hit locations.
