Ukraine Fights Back as Russia Steps Up Drone Attacks
New jet-powered drones are flying faster, but Ukraine says they are stopping more than half of them.

Russia is sending more drones into Ukraine than ever before. These new drones use jet engines. This makes them fly much faster than the older models. Because of this, they are harder to hit.
In just one week, Russia fired over 2,000 drones, plus many bombs and missiles at Ukraine. President Zelenskyy is calling on world leaders to help stop these attacks.
Even though the new drones are faster, Ukraine is learning how to stop them. They say they are now intercepting—or shooting down—about 55% of these jet-powered drones. Ukraine’s defense forces recently neutralized 134 drones in a single series of attacks.
These drone attacks are happening by the thousands now. It is a big challenge for Ukraine, but they have started using new tools and methods to fight back. The goal is to keep the country safe from these constant threats coming from the sky.
