UN Envoy Meets Houthi Rebels to Stop Yemen Fighting

A high-ranking official from the United Nations is in talks with Houthi rebel leaders today. The goal is simple: they want to stop the fighting that has been getting worse in Yemen.

Yemen has been trapped in a long, difficult war for years. The Houthi rebels control parts of the country and are a major part of this conflict.

The UN official is trying to get both sides to lay down their weapons and talk instead of fight. Recent attacks have made the situation much more dangerous for the people living there.

There is no deal yet, but these meetings are a first step toward cooling things down. The world is watching closely to see if these talks can bring any relief to a country that has suffered for far too long.
