A 45-year-old woman was killed in Florence, Italy, after her ex-boyfriend allegedly threw her off a bridge. The man also went over the side of the bridge during the incident.
Reports indicate the woman was kidnapped before the tragic event. She fell about 131 feet to her death.
This incident is the seventh case of a woman being killed by a partner or ex-partner in Italy since the middle of August. The high number of deaths has caused deep concern across the country.
Politicians and the public are now calling for more action to stop this violence. The father of a woman named Lorena Isceri—a victim of similar violence—has asked for the country to stand together against these crimes.
Authorities are continuing to look into the details of this case. As of now, it is being treated as a murder-suicide.
