A big scare in Cornwall is finally over. An unexploded bomb from the Second World War was found at the docks in Falmouth.
Because the bomb was still live, experts had to move quickly to keep everyone safe. At first, it looked like a lot of people would have to leave their homes. Officials made plans to evacuate about 300 houses near the docks to make sure nobody got hurt.
Businesses in the area were also worried about the impact. Being closed for safety is tough for local shops, and many owners were concerned about the disruption. Trains in the area had to be stopped for a while to make sure the tracks were safe while the bomb was being handled.
Thankfully, the experts were able to do their jobs. The bomb has now been successfully removed from the docks. The safety zone has been lifted, and things are starting to get back to normal for the people of Falmouth. Everyone can go home and businesses can reopen now that the danger is gone.
