KYIV — President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a significant reshuffle of Ukraine’s top security officials, marking a continuation of his broader military and administrative overhaul. Among the key appointments, Rustem Umerov, a prominent ally of the President and a seasoned negotiator, has been selected to head the Foreign Intelligence Service (SZR).

Umerov, who has previously played a pivotal role in high-stakes negotiations, is expected to bring a strategic focus to the agency as Ukraine intensifies its efforts on the international intelligence front. His appointment comes alongside the naming of Klymenko as the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
