At least 25 killed in bus crash on Cape Verde island

A tragic bus crash has killed at least 25 people on the island of Fogo in Cape Verde. Many of those who died were teenagers and children who were on a school trip.
The bus went off the road and fell about 100 feet down into a rocky ravine. A ravine is a deep, narrow gorge or ditch with steep sides. Rescue teams rushed to the scene to help, but officials say the death toll is at least 25. Many other people were hurt in the crash.
This is a developing story, and authorities are still working to understand exactly what caused the bus to go over the edge. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this very difficult time.
