A deadly drone strike hit a camp for displaced people in Sudan. This happened near the border with Ethiopia.
Rights groups say at least 41 people were killed in the attack. Other reports, including from local authorities, put the number of dead at around 30 to 40. We know that children are among those who died.
Displaced people are those who have had to leave their homes because of fighting. They were living in the camp to stay safe.
This attack is part of the ongoing conflict in Sudan between the country’s military and a group called the Rapid Support Forces, which is a paramilitary group. A paramilitary group acts like an army but is not part of the official national military.
Many people in Sudan have been forced to leave their homes since the war started. This attack shows how dangerous the situation remains for people who have nowhere else to go.
International groups are calling the attack horrific. We are watching this story as more details come in.
