A seven-year-old boy was left all by himself on Mount Fuji this week. His father and brother decided to keep hiking to the top instead of staying with him.

The boy had become too tired to keep walking, so the father left him behind on the trail. The father and his other son continued their climb to the summit.

Rescuers eventually found the boy. Thankfully, he was discovered safe.

Mount Fuji is a very difficult climb, even for adults. Temperatures can drop quickly, and the terrain is rough. Leaving a young child alone on such a dangerous mountain has shocked many people who heard about what happened.

Police are looking into the situation. For now, the boy is safe after his scary experience on the mountain.
