Germany is getting ready to point the finger at Russia for a recent attack at an airport in Leipzig.
Investigators found a drone loaded with explosives near the airport recently. It was the third time something like this happened in the area. Now, it looks like German officials are preparing to tell the public that Russia is behind it.
Friedrich Merz, a leader in German politics, says the government will announce who is responsible very soon. American intelligence sources have also told reporters that the drones are linked to Russian military intelligence.
For a while, European leaders have been worried about mysterious attacks on cargo and weapons shipments. These incidents have been happening across Europe, but Germany has been careful about what it says publicly until now.
If Germany officially blames Russia, it will be a major moment. Tensions between the two countries are already very high because of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
For now, security teams are still looking into the area near the airport to make sure there are no more dangerous devices left behind. People are waiting to hear the final word from the government.
