A powerful storm has hit South Korea, leading to a tragic loss of life. Heavy, non-stop rain caused a landslide in the city of Geoje. One person was killed in the slide.
Reports from the region say that this is not just a typical storm. The amount of rain falling has reached record levels. The southern part of the country is being hit the hardest. Along with the death, at least four other people have been hurt by the storm’s effects.
It isn't just South Korea facing this weather. Nearby, the Philippines is also dealing with major problems. Streets in their capital are flooded, making it difficult for people to get around.
Emergency teams are working in both countries to help those caught in the rising water and mud. Officials are asking everyone in affected areas to stay inside and stay away from places where the ground might slide.
More rain is expected to fall as the storm continues to move through the region.
