South Korea Fires Warning Shots After North Korean Troops Cross Border
A group of North Korean soldiers walked over the line that separates the two countries, forcing the South Korean military to fire shots to make them go back.

There was a tense moment at the border between North and South Korea on Tuesday. A group of North Korean soldiers walked across the Military Demarcation Line, which is the official border that divides the two countries.
Because the two sides are technically still at war from decades ago, this border is strictly off-limits. When the North Korean soldiers stepped over the line, the South Korean military took immediate action. They fired warning shots to tell the soldiers to leave.
According to officials in South Korea, the North Korean soldiers turned around and went back to their side of the border after the shots were fired. It seems the crossing was brief.
Incidents like this are rare but very serious. The border, often called the DMZ, is one of the most protected places in the world. Both sides keep a close watch for any movement.
South Korea said they are now keeping a much closer eye on the North's activities to make sure it doesn't happen again. So far, there have been no reports of anyone getting hurt or any further fighting.
