Things are tense at the border between Morocco and Ceuta, a Spanish city on the coast of North Africa. Over the last few days, hundreds of people have tried to cross into Spain.
Many of these migrants have been trying to reach the border to ask for asylum. Asylum is a legal way for people to stay in a country if they are running away from danger in their home countries.
However, the authorities are not letting them through. Security forces on both the Spanish and Moroccan sides have been out in full force.
Because the border is heavily guarded, these attempts have mostly failed. Reports say that Moroccan officials have arrested at least 111 people who were heading toward the border. In another area, other groups were stopped and taken into custody during a crackdown by local security.
Some of the migrants even held a protest in the streets of Ceuta to ask for the right to stay. For now, the border remains locked down and heavily controlled by police.
