A group of Iraqi tribesmen from Basra stepped in to help rescue an oil tanker that had been hijacked by Somali pirates. This was part of a recent string of events where several ships were freed from pirate control. One of the ships rescued is the Sibu 1. It is an oil tanker that the United States government had previously put under sanctions, meaning there were strict rules against doing business with it.
