Yair Netanyahu, the son of Israel’s Prime Minister, had to leave the United States and move back to Israel. Officials say this was because there was a serious threat against his life.
Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Iran was behind the plot. He said that Iranian agents were trying to kill his son while he was living in Miami.
The Shin Bet, which is Israel’s security service, confirmed that the threat was significant. Because of this, they decided it was not safe for him to stay in the U.S. and brought him home.
Reports say the evacuation happened last year. While the news is coming out now, officials made it clear that keeping him safe was the top priority. No one has been arrested in connection to this specific plot yet, but the move shows just how high tensions are between Israel and Iran.
