The Israeli military carried out an airstrike in Gaza today. During this attack, they killed a high-ranking leader of Hamas.

Hamas is the group that controls the Gaza Strip and is currently at war with Israel.

Officials confirmed that the person killed was a senior commander. This means he was an important person in charge of their operations.

There is no word yet on exactly how many other people were hurt or killed in the same blast. Both sides remain in a state of conflict as fighting continues in the area.
