Israel is having a major problem with its water supply. Almost all of the country's desalination plants have been shut down. These are the big factories that turn salty ocean water into clean drinking water.

They had to close because of the weather. Recent storms made the seawater along the coast very murky and dirty. This dirty water can clog up the machines used to clean it, so the plants had to turn off to keep from breaking.

Officials have denied rumors that this was caused by a cyberattack. They say it is strictly because of the bad water quality caused by the storms.

This is a big deal for a few reasons. First, farmers are worried. They need a steady supply of water for their crops, especially as the High Holy Days approach. If the plants stay off for too long, it could hurt the food supply.

Second, it affects people living in cities. Some places, like Jerusalem, have already started setting up temporary water stations to make sure everyone has enough to drink.

Experts are now saying that Israel needs to get better at handling these kinds of problems. They want the government to make a plan so that if one part of the system fails, the rest of the country doesn't run out of water.

Right now, three of the plants are still not working. People are watching closely to see when they can turn back on.
