A drone flew into Romania’s airspace today. Romania is part of NATO, which is a group of countries that work together for safety. Because of the rules for safety, a fighter jet was sent to deal with it.

Reports say a Spanish fighter jet, working as part of NATO, was the one that shot the drone down. The incident happened near the border where Romania meets Ukraine. Ukraine is currently fighting a war with Russia, and drones are often used in the area.

Officials are looking into the drone to see where it came from and why it was there. People in the area reported hearing the jet, but no one on the ground was hurt. This is a tense situation because Romania is a member of NATO, and an unauthorized drone in their sky is a serious security concern.
