India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is facing a tough time. Young people across the country are speaking up and challenging his leadership. Experts are calling this an "unprecedented" challenge, which is a fancy way of saying they haven't seen opposition this strong in a very long time.
While this is happening at home, there is also some strange news coming from the government. Reports say Modi has been defending his record regarding a growing cockroach problem in the country. This has left many people scratching their heads.
The situation is catching eyes outside of India, too. In the United Kingdom, groups of people have gathered to show their support for the protesters back in Delhi. Recently, demonstrators held an "emergency protest" outside of India House in London. They say they are standing in solidarity—which just means they are standing together as a group—with the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) organization in India.
It is clear that many people, both in India and abroad, are unhappy with the current state of affairs. As the youth continue to organize and international groups voice their concerns, the political pressure on Modi is only getting higher.
