A second person has been arrested in connection to the damage done to the Nord Stream gas pipelines back in 2022. German prosecutors confirmed that the suspect, a Ukrainian national, was taken into custody while in Croatia.

The Nord Stream pipelines were built to carry natural gas from Russia to Germany under the Baltic Sea. In September 2022, huge underwater explosions caused massive leaks in the pipes. This incident became a major international mystery, as many countries tried to figure out who was responsible and why they did it.

This arrest is the latest move in a long investigation. Officials have been looking for people who might have been involved in the plot. While this is the second person to be linked to the case, authorities are still digging to uncover exactly how the attack was planned and carried out.

For now, the person is being held while the legal process moves forward. Investigators say they are still working hard to piece together all the facts about what happened on the seafloor that night.
