A group of sailors had a terrifying experience in the South Pacific recently. Their yacht was attacked by a gang of eight sperm whales. The whales rammed into the boat, causing it to sink.

After the boat went down, the crew was left stranded in the water. They had to wait for 18 hours before help arrived. A military rescue mission was launched to find them and bring them to safety.

All of the sailors were rescued alive. They were lucky to survive such a strange and dangerous encounter at sea. Experts say it is very rare for whales to attack a boat in this way. Investigations are likely to follow to understand why the whales targeted the vessel.
