The pressure on these tech platforms comes after a series of tragic incidents. One recent case involved a teenager who died in a crash on the A66 highway. Reports say that just before the crash happened, someone rammed their car into the teenager's father’s house.

In another serious case, five more people have been arrested in connection with a separate crash that killed seven people, including two police officers.

Government leaders want these platforms to stop hosting content that glorifies dangerous acts. They argue that these sites have a responsibility to keep their users safe, rather than letting harmful content spread for clicks and views.

Right now, investigators are looking deeper into how social media trends influence people to drive in ways that lead to such devastating accidents.
