The UK government is sending a tough message to Eritrea. Officials say they might stop allowing Eritrean people to enter the UK.
This is about a disagreement over returning people. When someone from Eritrea comes to the UK and asks to stay as a refugee, the government sometimes says no. Usually, the UK sends those people back to their home country.
Eritrea has not been cooperating with these returns. They make it hard for the UK to send people back when their requests to stay are turned down.
Now, the UK is threatening to block Eritreans from coming to Britain. They hope this will force Eritrea to change how they handle the return process.
This is a major step in the UK's plan to control how many people come into the country. The government wants to make sure they can easily send people home if they don't have a legal right to stay.
