Even after some changes, Ukraine and Hungary are still arguing about laws and borders. This is slowing down Ukraine’s path to joining Europe.

Ukraine and Hungary are having a hard time getting along. Even though some people thought things would get better, the relationship is still very tense.

Right now, Hungary is blocking Ukraine from moving forward with a big plan. Ukraine wants to join groups called Clusters 2 and 3, which are basically steps toward becoming part of the European Union. Because Hungary said no to the latest paperwork, those steps are stuck.

There are a few big reasons for this fight. Part of it is about how people are treated. There is a disagreement about the rights of people in Ukraine who speak Hungarian. To try to fix this, Ukraine recently sent a new bill to their parliament, the Rada. This bill has five points that both sides were supposed to agree on. The goal is to make things fairer so that Hungary will stop blocking their progress.

There is also a separate issue about a fuel storage facility in Hungary. People are arguing over who actually has the power to make decisions about it.

Even though leaders are trying to talk, the two countries seem to be stuck in a deadlock. For now, Ukraine is waiting to see if these new changes will be enough to calm things down with their neighbor.
