Tensions are running high in Ceuta, a Spanish city located on the coast of North Africa. For the past month, the area has been dealing with a massive influx of migrants crossing the border.
Now, the situation has turned violent.
Groups of local protesters have taken to the streets to show their anger. In some areas, residents have tried to block the Red Cross from delivering aid to the migrants. In other parts of the city, clashes have broken out between protesters and the police. There are also reports that protesters have set fire to a camp where migrants were staying.
Some reports also suggest that there have been tense run-ins between migrant groups and Spanish soldiers in the area.
The government of Spain is now asking everyone to stay calm. Officials are trying to regain control as the city remains on edge.
