A major surge in violence is shaking Yemen. Over 120 people have been killed in recent battles as Houthi rebels push forward to capture new territory.
The fighting is getting much worse in the western part of the country. The Houthis are moving toward a narrow body of water called a strait. This is a very important path for ships carrying oil and goods around the world.
Reports show the conflict is happening on two sides. Houthi fighters are trying to expand their reach, while the Yemeni army says they have managed to win back some of the land that was recently taken.
In addition to the ground fighting, the Houthi group also said they sent drones to attack locations inside Saudi Arabia.
International observers are worried that this push toward the coast could lead to more instability in a region already suffering from years of war. As of now, the situation on the ground remains very tense, with both sides refusing to back down.
