Estonia’s defense minister has resigned from his job. He stepped down because of a major problem with a deal meant to help Ukraine.
The deal was worth €70 million. The goal was to buy shells for Ukraine to use in the war against Russia. These shells were supposed to come through an Indian company.
People started asking tough questions about how the deal was handled. There was a lot of confusion about why this specific company was picked and where the money was really going. Because of the controversy, the minister decided he could not stay in his position any longer.
The Indian company involved claims they were treated unfairly and says they lost money because of the arguments surrounding the contract.
