Finland Finishes Building 200km Fence Along Russia Border

Finland has finished a new fence along its border with Russia to help keep the area safe.

Finland has officially finished building its new border fence. The project covers 200 kilometers, or about 124 miles, of the land bordering Russia. Officials say the fence is a key part of protecting Finland’s border. Since Finland joined NATO—an alliance of countries that work together to protect each other—the border has become very important. Along with the new fence, security in the area is getting a boost in other ways.
