Gaza students return to school in tents and ruins

For the first time in three years, students in Gaza are back in school. The region has been deeply scarred by war and constant displacement, leaving most regular school buildings in ruins.
Because so many schools were destroyed or damaged during the fighting, thousands of children are now attending classes inside makeshift tents. These learning spaces are far from normal. They lack basic amenities, and the surroundings are often filled with rubble from collapsed buildings.
Despite these difficult conditions, teachers and families are trying to help children get back to learning. Returning to the classroom is a major step for many young people who have spent years away from their studies. While the environment is physically unstable, the return to school is seen as an important effort to give these children a sense of routine and a chance at an education despite the ongoing crisis.
