Things are getting very dangerous in Yemen right now. Government forces are launching new, larger attacks against Houthi fighters. The fighting is especially bad near the city of Taiz.
Here is what is happening:
* Government warplanes have been hitting Houthi military bases. One big base east of Taiz was hit recently.
* The Yemeni military claims they have killed or wounded over 2,300 Houthi fighters in just the last three days.
* There are reports that four experts from Iran—who were helping with drones and missiles—were killed during the fighting in Taiz.
Taiz is a city on the front lines, meaning it is caught right in the middle of this war. People living there are facing a very tough situation as both sides fight hard to take control of the area.
This is a major jump in the level of violence between the two sides. We will keep watching as this situation develops.
