Houthis Promise to Stop Attacking European Ships
The Houthi militant group says they will not target ships from European countries in the Red Sea.

The Houthi group, which controls parts of Yemen, has made a new promise. They say they will stop attacking ships from European countries that pass through the Red Sea.
This is a big deal because the Red Sea is a major path for trade. For months, the Houthis have been firing missiles and drones at boats. They claim they are doing this to support people in Gaza. Because of these attacks, many shipping companies have been scared to send their ships through this area. They have been taking longer, more expensive routes instead.
Now, the Houthis have told officials from the European Union that ships from their countries will be safe. It is not exactly clear why they changed their minds or if they will keep this promise.
Some shipping companies have already started going back through the Red Sea, hoping that things are getting safer. Meanwhile, on land in Yemen, the Houthis have also been busy taking over a place called Jabal Numan.
We will have to wait and see if this promise actually stops the attacks on the water.
