There is big news coming out of Yemen today. A group known as the Houthis has taken control of important ports along the Red Sea.
Reports show that the group was able to take this land very quickly. Some sources say it took them less than 48 hours to secure the coast. Officials believe that advisers from Iran helped them with the takeover.
So, who are the Houthis? They are a rebel group based in Yemen. They have been involved in a long fight for power in their country. They have also been causing trouble for ships moving through the Red Sea, which is a very busy path for global trade.
This move has made many people worried. Saudi Arabia, which is nearby, is watching the situation closely. Even though they want to stay calm, they are struggling to find other countries to help them deal with the threat.
Experts at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies say this is a big problem. By controlling these ports, the Houthis have more power than ever. This makes life harder and more dangerous for people living in nearby parts of Africa, too.
