Indonesian authorities have officially closed all access routes to Mount Bromo, one of the country's most iconic tourist destinations, as wildfires continue to spread across the protected national park.

The decision to shut down the area comes as emergency response teams struggle to contain the blaze, which has been exacerbated by dry conditions and challenging terrain. Officials have cited safety concerns for both local residents and tourists as the primary reason for the total closure.

Mount Bromo, located in East Java, is part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park and is famous for its dramatic volcanic vistas and sunrise viewing points. The site typically attracts thousands of visitors; however, park management has now barred all entry until further notice to ensure the effectiveness of firefighting operations and prevent potential injuries.

Local authorities are currently coordinating with environmental agencies to assess the ecological impact of the fire and determine when it will be safe to reopen the park to the public. Visitors currently in the region are being advised to follow all instructions from local security personnel and to monitor official government channels for updates on the situation.
