Now, the government is pushing back hard. They are using their morality police to try and force women to cover up again. They are also closing down cafes and shops if the women inside aren't wearing hijabs. Basically, if a business allows women to go inside without a headscarf, the government shuts that business down.
Despite these threats and the crackdown, many women are still choosing not to wear the hijab. They are continuing to defy these rules every single day.
Experts say the government is in a tough spot. They want to keep control, but they are also dealing with other big problems in the country, like a struggling economy. Because of this, it is not clear how far the government will go to enforce these rules without causing even more trouble for themselves.
