There is a major problem happening in the Strait of Hormuz. This is a very narrow and important strip of water where many ships carry oil and gas to the rest of the world.

Recently, the number of attacks on these ships has gone up significantly. Reports say these strikes are happening almost every day this month. This has pushed the number of attacks to a level we haven't seen since wartime. Because of this violence, fewer ships are willing to travel through the area. In fact, the amount of traffic in the strait has dropped to its lowest point in over two months.

This is causing big problems for the global energy market. The world is already worried about a shortage of liquid natural gas, known as LNG. When ships can't get through safely, it becomes much harder and more expensive to move oil and gas from where it is made to where it is needed.

Experts say Iran is behind the increased pressure. Some observers think this is a way to gain leverage during a tense political season. With major elections approaching in the United States, the situation in the Middle East is becoming a top concern for world leaders who are watching the energy supply very closely.
